Black cats have been strongly associated with different types of folklore throughout history. In some cultures they are considered bad luck, or bringers of evil omens. In other parts of the world such as Japan, black cats are looked upon as symbols of good luck. The legendary history of black cats lends itself to all sorts of spooky name ideas. So we put our heads together and composed an amazing list of over 400 unique names for a black cat!
For this list we drew inspiration from magic and myths, famous black cats, and people who famously dress in black. We looked to classic scary movies, outer space, and anything well known for being black in color.
